UD Las Palmas Bolsters Squad with Experienced Goalkeeper
UD Las Palmas announced on Monday the signing of Andalusian goalkeeper José Antonio Caro, who joins the Gran Canaria club as a free agent for the upcoming LaLiga Hypermotion season. The 31-year-old from Huelva has signed a one-year contract, valid until June 30, 2026, following his previous stint with Cádiz.
A Proven Performer Between the Posts
The island club highlighted Caro’s experience and reliability in goal, noting his “strong offensive play, leadership, and commanding presence.” With over 200 appearances in Spain’s second division, the goalkeeper brings a wealth of competitive knowledge to the yellow-clad team.
A Journey Through Spanish Football
Caro began his career in Sevilla FC’s youth system, progressing to Sevilla Atlético before spells with Valladolid, Albacete, Ponferradina, and Burgos—where he set a professional football unbeaten record in 2022—before his time at Cádiz. His arrival in Gran Canaria is scheduled for Tuesday, with an official presentation planned at the Barranco Seco Sports City following the first team’s training session.
