Two Suspects Detained Following Beachfront Assault
The GOIA (Operational Intervention and Support Group) unit of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Local Police arrested two people last night as the alleged perpetrators of a violent robbery in the area surrounding Las Canteras beach, one of the city’s busiest and most iconic spots. Municipal sources confirmed that the victim of the robbery was walking along the seafront promenade when they were violently assaulted by the alleged criminals.
Immediate Police Intervention on Busy Promenade
During the attack, the individual was struck and robbed of their belongings in full view of the public. The incident, which caused alarm among passers-by, occurred in a zone frequented by both residents and tourists, underscoring the seriousness of the event from a public safety perspective.
Thanks to the active presence of GOIA unit patrols in the area, the intervention was immediate. The officers, who regularly patrol strategic locations across the city, were able to locate and detain the suspected perpetrators shortly after the assault took place.
