TLP Tenerife 2025 Is Now Underway
The most important tech event in the Canary Islands has opened its doors at the Tenerife Fairgrounds, where thousands of young enthusiasts will gather until July 20 to enjoy video games, innovation, Asian culture, and nonstop entertainment. The official launch ceremony took place today with key institutional figures in attendance, including Rosa Dávila, President of the Tenerife Island Council; Juan José Martínez, Innovation Minister; Alfonso Cabello, Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Canary Islands Government; José Manuel Bermúdez, Mayor of Santa Cruz; and Idaira Febles, Director of TLP Tenerife.
More Than Just Entertainment
During the opening ceremony, Rosa Dávila emphasized that TLP Tenerife isn’t just about fun—it also provides “a gateway to new training and employment opportunities” for young people. She noted that the event has returned to its original dates and is expected to surpass last year’s attendance numbers. Juan José Martínez praised the organizing team and thanked partners like CanaLink, responsible for event connectivity, and the Tenerife Science and Technology Park. He called TLP a “golden opportunity to attract gaming and animation industries to the island.”
Tenerife as the Global Gaming Hub
Alfonso Cabello reinforced this vision, declaring, “For six days, Tenerife becomes the world capital of gaming.” He highlighted the sector’s growth, with 40 local companies, 200 jobs, and 38,000 young people training in related fields. José Manuel Bermúdez described TLP as “one of the most important youth events in Santa Cruz,” while Idaira Febles emphasized inclusivity: “The Summer-Con zone is designed for everyone.”
Nonstop Gaming and Innovation
The heart of TLP remains its legendary LAN Party Zone, where nearly 1,000 participants will game around the clock for six days. Premium attendees began arriving on Monday, with general access opening today. Over 200 activities are scheduled, including workshops, contests, animation showcases, and giveaways, all coordinated by 100 professionals and 50 volunteers.
Esports and Indie Game Spotlight
Competitive gaming takes center stage with the finals of Spain’s largest amateur esports league, the Tormenta Circuit. Teams like Nocturne Gale, Oxygen Gaming, Otakar Esports, and Suzaku Esports will battle it out in League of Legends and VALORANT tournaments. Meanwhile, the TLP Innova zone offers talks and workshops on innovation and employability, alongside the TLP Indie Awards—featuring a €15,000 prize for the best indie game, plus awards for art, storytelling, mechanics, and diversity.
Summer-Con: A Cultural Extravaganza
Open to the public, the Summer-Con area is packed with cultural activities: K-pop performances, cosplay contests, karaoke, outdoor movie screenings, board games, vendor stalls, and meetups with content creators. Running from Wednesday to Saturday, it’s a must-visit for fans of pop culture and interactive fun.
