Storm Emilia disrupts Canary Islands air travel

The severe weather conditions affecting the Canary Islands due to Storm Emilia this Saturday, which is bringing intense rainfall and strong winds, have led to the cancellation of seven inter-island flights. A flight from Madrid bound for Tenerife North has also been diverted, according to information provided by the Spanish airport authority, Aena, to Europa Press.

Airports affected by cancellations

Specifically, four cancellations have occurred at La Palma Airport, two at La Gomera Airport, and a further one at Tenerife North–Los Rodeos Airport. All of the affected services were inter-island flights.

Long-haul flight diverted

In addition to these cancellations, a flight originating from Madrid and destined for Tenerife North was diverted due to the adverse weather conditions brought by the storm.
