Teenager Seriously Hurt in Arona Collision
Five men were injured, one seriously, after a collision between two vehicles on the TF-28 road in the Tenerife municipality of Arona on Monday. The incident occurred at 15:14 local time.
Emergency Response at Chayofa Roundabout
The Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting a crash between a van and a car near the Chayofa roundabout. Firefighters secured the damaged vehicles and extracted four people from inside one of them.
Casualties Taken to Hospital
Medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed and treated a total of five casualties. The most seriously injured was a 17-year-old boy with multiple major trauma. He was transferred by a medicalised ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.
The four other injured people sustained moderate wounds and were taken to various hospitals in the south of Tenerife.
Road Reopened After Clear-Up
The Guardia Civil took charge of the official report on the accident, while Local Police assisted the other emergency resources. Crews from the Road Maintenance Service carried out clean-up operations on the carriageway.
