Queen’s Volleyball Cup Returns to Tenerife

The Queen’s Volleyball Cup is set to make a spectacular return to Tenerife in 2026, eight years after the island last hosted this premier national tournament. From January 22nd to 25th, the eight top-ranked teams from the first half of the Iberdrola League season will gather to compete for the prestigious title, aiming to succeed the current champions, Avarca de Menorca.

A National Sports Epicenter

For four exciting days, the Quico Cabrera Pavilion in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the stage for the very best of Spanish volleyball, transforming the island into the nation’s undisputed epicenter for the sport. As confirmed by the Tenerife Island Council, the venue will host the eight elite women’s teams from Spain’s top-tier competition, promising a display of world-class athleticism.

Institutional Support and Historic Legacy

The event, organized by the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation (RFEVB), enjoys robust support from Iberdrola, the Tenerife Island Council, the Canary Islands Government, and the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, with additional collaboration from the Canarian Volleyball Federation. Bringing the tournament to the Canary Islands underscores a strong institutional commitment to sports development and cements Tenerife’s reputation as a reference venue for major national and international competitions, reflecting its historic status in Spanish women’s volleyball.

The Quico Cabrera Pavilion

The tournament’s venue pays homage to the key figure of Quico Cabrera, the former president of the Club Voleibol Tenerife, who was a dominant force in Spanish volleyball for nearly two decades. The Quico Cabrera Pavilion is no stranger to high-stakes matches, having previously hosted the Princess Cup and the final stage of the Women’s Superliga 2, making it a seasoned and fitting host for this celebrated event.
