Palominos Road Closed After Landslides
The Palominos road, located in the Altos de Gáldar region, has been closed to traffic in both directions following several landslides recorded in recent hours. The route is now completely impassable, both from the Fagajesto and Barranco Hondo access points. The closure has been ordered on safety grounds, due to the risk of further rockfalls or accidents caused by the instability of the terrain.
Clean-Up Efforts Delayed by Weather
The adverse weather conditions currently affecting the area are preventing the start of clearance and debris removal work. Authorities have confirmed that, weather permitting, operations will resume on Thursday. Such incidents are not uncommon in mountainous areas like the Altos de Gáldar, where the topography and heavy rainfall can create hazardous situations on secondary access roads like the Palominos.

The Palominos road is an important route connecting rural communities in the north of Gran Canaria, particularly for residents and agricultural workers.
