Second National Lottery Prize Won in Tenerife

Another Major Lottery Win for the Canary Islands

Lady Luck’s hot romance with the Canary Islands continues. Following the El Gordo prize in the ‘Lotería del Niño’ and the 350,000-euro ‘Cuponazo’ from the ONCE, it is now the turn of the National Lottery, where the second prize has landed in the archipelago, according to Spain’s State Lotteries and Gambling Agency.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Celebrates 60,000-Euro Prize

The winning ticket, number 43687, was sold at El Corte Inglés on Avenida Tres de Mayo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Each tenth of the ticket (‘décimo’) is valued at 60,000 euros. This number was sold exclusively in the Tenerife capital. Meanwhile, the first prize, worth 300,000 euros for a full ticket, went to number 65,679, sold in the town of Elda in Alicante.

How to Participate in the National Lottery Online

To play online, you must first choose the specific draw you wish to enter (there is always a minimum of four draws available). Next, you select the five-digit number (the ‘décimo’) you want to enter into that draw. You can either choose the digits yourself or let the system generate them randomly for you, using asterisks for digits you do not wish to select. You must also indicate the number of tenths you wish to purchase (between 1 and 10).

If you choose a specific number, be aware that it may not be available for sale because it has already been sold or is only sold through one of our licensed lottery retailers. The generated tenths are virtual (you will never be sent a paper ticket, as these are sold exclusively by licensed retailers) but they participate in the draws under the same conditions as paper tickets and with the same probability of winning.

Claiming Prizes and Ticket Prices

The only difference is that if you have bought a paper ticket, you must present it to claim any prizes, whereas with online tickets you will receive your winnings automatically, just as with other online games, with no need to present anything.

The price of each tenth depends on the draw: for a Thursday draw, each tenth costs 3 euros; for an ordinary Saturday draw, 6 euros; for a special Saturday draw, 12 or 15 euros; and for an extraordinary draw, 20 euros. You win a prize if your number (or some of its digits) is selected in the draw within the pre-established prize distribution for that draw: first prize, second prize, final digit matches, close number matches, or refunds.
