Relive the magic of Maspalomas Soul Festival on TV

This weekend, RTVE’s second channel in the Canary Islands will broadcast the sights and sounds of the IX Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival. The event, held from July 18-20 on San Agustín Beach, drew over 12,000 spectators and featured world-class soul performances against the stunning backdrop of Gran Canaria.

A festival that keeps growing

Under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Elena Álamo Vega and producer/director Dania Dévora, San Bartolomé de Tirajana’s Department of Culture has successfully established this event as Canary Islands’ premier summer music festival. The 2025 edition will be showcased in two special 45-minute programs airing Saturday at 9 PM and Sunday at 8 PM on RTVE’s La 2, allowing viewers to experience highlights from all three festival days.

International soul stars take the stage

The broadcast will feature unforgettable performances from this year’s lineup, including Jerome Chism leading a tribute to soul legend Wilson Pickett, Burundian artist J.P. Bimeni & The Black Belts, the iconic Memphis Music Hall Band under Kurt Clayton’s direction, and powerhouse vocalists Candy Fox, Jonté Mayon, Dani McGhee, Lil Rounds, and Shunta Mosby.

More than just music

Recognized as a locally significant tourist attraction, the Maspalomas Soul Festival has become an essential summer tradition that combines world-class music with Canarian culture. Beyond the main stage, visitors enjoy local cuisine and participate in music workshops for all ages, creating a uniquely family-friendly atmosphere that keeps attendees coming back year after year.
