Extended festive opening for Las Palmas venues
A total of 44 establishments in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have had their requests to extend opening hours for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve celebrations validated by the City Council. This authorisation will allow them to remain open until six in the morning on those nights.
Details of the approved requests
According to a statement released by the council this Monday, of the premises that submitted a correctly completed application along with a valid civil liability insurance policy, 43 requested an extension for both the night of 24 December and 31 December. One venue applied for an extension exclusively for Christmas Eve.
Strict closing times and conditions
The closing time for all authorised venues and events on these nights will be, at the very latest and without exception, 06:00 hours, with an additional half-hour allowed for clearing the premises. All extension requests have been made by establishments that hold a municipal licence for classified musical and catering activities, or which have submitted the responsible declaration with a project and technical certificate for this extension.
Capacity and terrace regulations
The permitted capacity will be the same as already authorised for each establishment, based on the stipulations of the Classified Activities Service. The City Council’s Building and Activities Service has indicated that these permits do not affect the removal of terraces located in public spaces, which must adhere to the hours established in the resolution setting terrace removal times.
