Casting call for carnival dancers and performers
The search for dancers and performers to take part in the 2026 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival has officially begun. This year’s event, which celebrates its 50th anniversary with a ‘Las Vegas’ theme, held its initial casting call at the Félix Santana Santana Pavilion in the Plaza Obispo Frías.
High expectations for golden anniversary
The Councillor for Carnival, Héctor Alemán, greeted participants just before the start of the selection process, which was directed by Josu Quevedo and choreographers Yohara Sánchez and Juanmi Hernández. In statements reported by ACFI Press, Alemán stated that preparations are advancing well for this 50th-anniversary celebration.
“We have quite high expectations for this casting, as the carnival is open to everyone,” Alemán said. “We have very high hopes and are very pleased.” He confirmed that participation levels were substantial and that different rounds of auditions would be held to assess all the candidates who had come forward.
