Single Runway Operation at Gran Canaria Airport
Travelers using Gran Canaria Airport should be aware of temporary operational changes this Wednesday. Due to scheduled maintenance work on one of the runways, the airport will be operating with reduced capacity throughout the day. According to sources from Aena, the Spanish airport authority, who spoke with Europa Press, the maintenance is expected to be completed by 10:00 PM this evening.
Minimal Disruption Reported So Far
As of this morning, no major flight delays have been directly linked to the single-runway operation. However, the airport manager has indicated that some disruptions cannot be entirely ruled out as the day progresses. Passengers with flights scheduled for Wednesday are encouraged to check their flight status with their airline for the most current information before heading to the airport.
Return to Full Service
The maintenance work is projected to finish by 10:00 PM tonight. Following this, Gran Canaria Airport is expected to return to its full operational capacity, resuming two-runway operations and normal service levels for all arriving and departing flights.
