GF Hoteles Raises €10k for Tenerife Autism Sensory Farm

Black Friday transformed into blue stay for autism support

The hotel chain GF Hoteles, part of Grupo Fedola, has donated more than €10,000 to La Granja Sensorial TEA, a pioneering space in Tenerife dedicated to inclusion and development for people with autism and their families. Marking one of the year’s biggest shopping periods, the company aimed to go further by transforming Black Friday into ‘Blue Stay’—a charitable initiative that generated social impact through its online bookings.

A commitment to purposeful tourism

Under the slogan “We believe in tourism with a purpose”, GF Hoteles allocated 5% of all sales made through its website between 28 November and 1 December to support this initiative. The response from customers allowed them to reach a total collection of €10,400, which will be transformed into a new resource for the wellbeing of children with autism.

“The most beautiful part of this initiative is that it stems from a gesture as simple as booking a holiday with us and that, thanks to this, we can now contribute to a project that changes lives and builds futures,” said Sandra Herrera, Commercial and Marketing Director of GF Hoteles. “Supporting this project aligns with our values and the responsibility we have as a business group rooted in the Canary Islands.”

Funding a new sensory playground module

Eduardo Reyes and Carolina Hernández, founders of La Granja Sensorial TEA, expressed their gratitude for the contribution. “Our project grows little by little, so help like this gives us a huge boost,” commented Eduardo. They also thanked all the clients whose bookings made this donation possible. “The funds will be allocated to new sensory modules and, specifically, to the creation of a children’s module,” highlighted Carolina.

The money raised will fund the construction of a children’s playground at La Granja Sensorial TEA, in the municipality of San Miguel. The goal is to provide children with an inclusive, adapted, and completely safe play environment. The module will include a house made of Scots pine wood, plus tables and benches specially designed to encourage interaction, creativity, and sensory stimulation.

Building a more inclusive future

This new corner will become a space where children can explore, learn, and share moments of happiness with their families, reinforcing values of autonomy and community. The initiative strengthens GF Hoteles’ commitment to purposeful tourism, engaged with the community and improving the social environment. The chain will continue to promote charitable actions that generate a real impact in the Canary Islands and help build a more inclusive society.
