Fugitive Located After Three-Year Search
The Guardia Civil from the Main Post in Guía de Isora, Tenerife, has arrested a man who had been at large since April 2022. A warrant for his imprisonment was issued at that time for a burglary offence at a property in the town of Chirche. The individual managed to evade law enforcement for over three years, hiding in various locations within the municipality to avoid serving his sentence.
Criminal History and Police Investigation
According to information provided by the Guardia Civil, the detainee also had a prior record for several property crimes, road safety offences, and a domestic violence charge. He was also implicated in a case of familial abuse, which was included within the VIOGEN system for monitoring victims of gender-based violence. Following an investigation carried out over recent months, officers succeeded in identifying the address where the man was hiding.
Operation and Arrest in Chío
The property, located in the Chío area of Guía de Isora, served as a refuge to avoid any contact with the police and to evade the sentence against him. Once the building was located, the officers requested the corresponding judicial authorisation for entry and search, a procedure conducted under legal supervision as part of the safeguards established by the Spanish judiciary. The operation involved personnel from the Guía de Isora Main Post and members of the Citizen Security Unit of the Command (USECIC).
Fugitive Transferred to Prison
After gaining access to the home, the officers intercepted the fugitive without incident and proceeded with his arrest. The Guardia Civil confirmed that the detainee has now been transferred to prison to serve the sentence imposed for the criminal acts committed. With this operation, the force highlights the importance of coordinated and sustained work over time to locate fugitives from justice.
