How the Points System Works
Cabrilla admits she only discovered this possibility a few months ago and has just started taking advantage of it, joking that she’s “always the last to know.” Here’s how it works: Points earned through the DISA app when refueling can be directly transferred to BinterMás, the loyalty program of the Canary Islands’ regional airline. These points can then be redeemed for inter-island flights or routes to mainland Spain without requiring astronomical amounts.
Surprisingly Affordable Redemptions
“For inter-island flights, you might need just 1,000 points, which is quite achievable,” explains Cabrilla, who frequently uses this method for her Tenerife-El Hierro trips. Longer routes like Tenerife-Madrid require significantly more points, making them less practical—though still offering substantial savings.
Premium Perks Included
A flight between Gran Canaria and Tenerife North costs 1,000 points one-way, but here’s the best part: When redeeming points, you don’t get the basic fare—you receive the premium Flexi Plus fare at no extra cost. “You spend 1,000 points but get the highest fare category, which includes two checked bags and allows free cancellations or changes,” Cabrilla clarifies. Essentially, you’re not just flying for free—you’re upgrading your travel experience.
Maximizing Your Points
The points accumulation system depends on your fuel choice. According to Binter’s official website, standard fuel earns 1 point per 2 liters, while premium options like DISAmax or Shell V-Power grant 1 point per liter—doubling your earning speed. Additional products like Nu-b (50 points) and Nu-b Plus (75 points) can further boost your balance.
