ExpoDeca 2025: The Canary Islands’ Premier Sports and Fitness Fair
For the second year running, ExpoDeca—the Canary Islands’ leading sports and physical activity fair—returns to Tenerife, building on last year’s success. From October 2–5, 2025, the event will bring together industry leaders, professionals, and enthusiasts to discuss the future of sports across the archipelago. Held at the Tenerife Fairgrounds, ExpoDeca promises a dynamic mix of conferences, roundtables, and interactive sessions designed to inspire and educate.
A Program for Everyone: Students, Professionals, and the Public
The fair’s schedule is packed with activities catering to diverse audiences. Mornings (10:00–14:00) and afternoons (16:00–20:00) will feature sessions in the lower halls of the venue, beneath the Grand Hall. Thursday and Friday mornings are reserved for university students, vocational trainees, and sports education programs, offering them a chance to engage with their coursework in an energetic setting. Highlights include a sports journalism forum, a talk on entrepreneurial opportunities in sports, and a session led by the Canary Islands Sports Arbitration Institute (ICAD), featuring top industry experts.
Networking and Policy Discussions
Thursday afternoon shifts focus to professionals, with workshops hosted by the Canarian Association of Sports Managers (ACAGEDE) and the Canary Islands Sports Industry Cluster. These sessions aim to foster collaboration among businesses, freelancers, federations, and clubs. Friday afternoon turns to institutional and policy matters, emphasizing equality, women in sports, and the role of sporting events in regional development—a key topic for the island context.
Celebrating Canarian Sports Heritage
On Saturday morning, ExpoDeca opens its doors to the wider public with talks on initiatives like the University of La Laguna’s “Educar Entrenando” program and ICAD’s session on refereeing and violence. Other highlights include a discussion on sports and cancer recovery and a forum dedicated to Canary Islands’ traditional games, showcasing the archipelago’s unique sporting heritage.
Promoting Active Lifestyles Across the Canaries
Organized by the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Education and Sports, alongside Tenerife’s Cabildo and public company Ideco, ExpoDeca is sponsored by DISA Foundation, Coca-Cola, Powerade, and Binter. Its mission? To champion physical activity as a cornerstone of well-being and social cohesion, making the Canary Islands a hub for sports innovation and healthy living.
