Dubai Chocolate Trend Lands in Tenerife
The viral Dubai chocolate craze has touched down in Tenerife, courtesy of the acclaimed Ducí heladería. This renowned establishment, located in Candelaria, is surprising customers with its exquisite ‘pangoccioli’ filled with the sweet treat taking TikTok by storm. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a creation from one of the island’s most distinguished ice cream parlours and bakeries.
What is a Pangoccioli?
Pangoccioli are delicious Italian milk buns with chocolate chips, a traditional staple in the country. They have a thin, outer crust, while the interior is notably extremely tender and spongy. Typically eaten for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, each Italian region has its own version, adapting the recipe according to local customs. Although the original recipe contained no filling, Italian pastry chefs have innovated over time, creating varieties with all kinds of toppings that further enrich this classic.
A Fusion of Italy and the Middle East
This is precisely what the chefs at Ducí have done with their latest creation. The Candelaria pastry shop is launching a version inspired by Middle Eastern flavours, featuring pistachio Nutella, kataif pastry, and chocolate chips—a combination already winning over sweet-toothed enthusiasts.
The artisanal workshop at Ducí has once again amazed its clients with a creation that fuses the best of Italy and Dubai. Its iconic pangoccioli has been reinvented with a recipe that promises to set a trend. In a video published on its social media, its master pastry chef presents the new recipe, which combines hazelnut chocolate mixed with pistachio and kataif pastry—a crispy dough typical of Arabic confectionery—all coated with traditional chocolate chips, achieving a soft inside and a crunchy outside.
Where and When to Try It
The result is a sweet described as “soft and crunchy, richer than you can imagine.” To enjoy this delicious treat, visit the Ducí heladería-pastelería, located at Paseo Marítimo de Las Caletillas, number 33, unit 13 in Candelaria. The establishment is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:00 to 22:30 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and until 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
