Clear Skies Across the Canaries with Light Calima

Clear and Calm Monday for the Canary Islands

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a Monday dominated by clear skies across Tenerife, accompanied by light high-altitude calima which will progressively diminish throughout the day. Evolution cloud will affect the interior of the northern slope in isolated patches, while the rest of the island will remain sunny.

Tenerife’s Temperature and Wind Outlook

Temperatures are expected to see little change from Sunday, with a slight increase on the northern slope and no significant variations in the south. However, weak frosts are possible in high areas of the central peaks, particularly in zones near Mount Teide. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, expect a low of 17°C and a high of 23°C.

The wind will be a light south-easterly, modulated by breezes, with greater intensity on the west coast during the middle of the day. On the high slopes of Teide, a light northerly wind is forecast. At sea, a slight swell or rippled conditions are expected, though more exposed areas could see force 2 to 4, with occasional patches of force 5 offshore.

Forecast for the Eastern Isles

Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will enjoy clear skies with intervals of high cloud, stable temperatures, and a light southerly wind.

Conditions Across the Western Isles

Gran Canaria will see light calima retreating from the morning, a slight temperature rise on the northern slope, and a light south-easterly wind.

La Gomera can expect clear skies, retreating calima, and stable temperatures.

For La Palma, the forecast is for scarce cloud in the interior, light high-altitude calima decreasing, and temperatures unchanged or with slight increases.
