Canary Islands Tourism Continues Upward Trend

The Canary Islands welcomed 1,461,395 international tourists in November 2025, representing a 0.9% increase compared to the same month in 2024. The data, published this Friday by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE), confirms the archipelago’s sustained appeal. This brings the total number of foreign visitors for the first eleven months of the year to 14,244,347, a 3.4% rise year-on-year, according to the latest Frontier Movement Tourism Statistics (Frontur).

Record-Breaking Year for Spanish Tourism

Nationally, Spain received 5.8 million international tourists in November, a 2.1% increase from November 2024. From January onwards, the total number of international tourists arriving in Spain reached its highest figure on record, nearing 91.5 million.

Tourist Spending Reaches €2.24 Billion

Further positive news came from the Tourist Expenditure Survey for November 2025, also released this Friday. It reveals that visitors residing outside of Spain spent a total of €2.241 billion in the Canary Islands. This figure represents a 1.7% increase on the amount spent in November the previous year.

Analysis of Visitor Habits and Expenditure

The average spend per tourist also grew compared to November 2024, albeit by a more modest 0.8%, settling at €1,533. However, the average length of their stay on the islands decreased by the same proportion (0.8%), to an average of 8 nights.
