Busy Kings’ Day for Canary Islands Airports
The network of Canary Islands airports operated by Aena is forecast to handle 1,161 flights today, Tuesday 6 January – Kings’ Day. This figure represents 95 more movements than on the same day one year ago, when 1,066 operations were recorded.
National Context and Leading Airports
Across Spain as a whole, Aena anticipates 5,099 flights, which is 24 fewer movements than the previous year. By individual airport, the Spanish capital Madrid leads the list as usual, with 1,006 scheduled air operations for today – an increase of 28 flights compared to the same period last year.
It is followed by Barcelona-El Prat Airport, which is expected to handle a total of 755 movements, while Málaga Airport will schedule 361 operations. Closing the list of the busiest hubs are Gran Canaria Airport and Palma de Mallorca Airport, which will register a total of 343 and 263 flights respectively.
