A Culinary Summit in Tenerife
Food enthusiasts have an unmissable date on October 18th at an exclusive restaurant in Tenerife. The Ritz-Carlton Abama will host a spectacular four-hands dinner featuring two of the world’s most prestigious chefs: Spain’s Martín Berasategui and Korea’s Akira Back. Diners are in for a unique culinary experience where creativity and gastronomic excellence unite in an exclusive menu designed by these two masters of the kitchen.
Where Basque Meets Korean
The south of Tenerife is preparing for an unprecedented culinary event. This exclusive four-hands dinner promises to be one of the most outstanding gastronomic events of the year in the Canary Islands. Both chefs have made their mark on the international culinary scene, and this experience is conceived as a dialogue between high Basque gastronomy and contemporary Korean cuisine. They will combine their unique talent and technique to unite local products with global creativity.
An Incomparable Setting
The event will take place in an incomparable setting, nestled among palm trees with views of the Atlantic Ocean, in a resort that has established itself as the culinary benchmark of the Canary Islands. During the dinner, Berasategui and Back will offer a menu designed to reflect the essence of their respective cuisines.
The Exclusive Menu
The gastronomic journey will begin with four appetizers, including Berasategui’s Truffle Jelly and Whiskey Sour, alongside Akira Back’s Pico de Gallo Taco and Miso Eggplant. These will be followed by six main courses where Canarian produce and the sea take center stage. The selection ranges from Caramelized Millefeuille of Smoked Eel with Foie-Gras, Spring Onion, and Green Apple, to a La Santa Carabinero Prawn with a sauce made from its head, pork belly, and kimchi. A direct nod to the island’s roots comes with the Grouper served on beurre blanc.
The grand finale features two emblematic desserts: Back’s Yuzu Mochi with Toasted Canarian Honey and Gofio Crisp, and Berasategui’s Smoked Corn Ice Cream on Salty Caramel and Cocoa. This four-hands proposal symbolizes the meeting of two visions that share a pursuit of perfection and a love for the flavors of the sea, in a tribute to the culinary excellence that characterizes the resort.
