Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife: A New Adult-Only Haven

A New Chapter in Canarian Luxury

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has officially inaugurated the Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife, marking its first adults-only property in the Canary Islands. This opening is a significant milestone for the company, solidifying its commitment to the adult-only segment with a product specifically designed for travelers seeking tranquility, sophistication, and tailor-made experiences.

Celebrating a Strategic Opening

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Piñero family, owners and investors of the project, alongside key local figures. These included Lope Afonso, First Vice President and Island Councillor for Tourism, Foreign Action and Institutional Relations of the Tenerife Cabildo, and Dimple Melwani, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife. The event highlighted the hotel’s importance to the island’s tourism landscape.

Designed for Excellence and Wellbeing

The Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife is the result of a complete reconceptualization of the hotel, raising standards in every detail. Its design and services follow a strategy focused on excellence, wellbeing, and a deep connection with the destination. The hotel features 268 rooms, two renovated swimming pools, and a culinary offering of four restaurants, all crafted to elevate the guest experience.

“The opening of Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife is another step in our strategy to reinforce service excellence,” stated Julio Pérez, CEO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. “This hotel allows us to offer a more contemporary, distinctive product aligned with the expectations of an adult audience looking for tranquility, personalized attention, and quality in every detail.”

Rooted in Canarian Identity

The hotel draws direct inspiration from the geology, culture, and local gastronomy of the Canary Islands. This approach aligns with the organization’s strategic line of authentically linking with the environment in every destination. The architecture incorporates elements like volcanic rock, the sea, and local banana plantations—visible, for example, in the buffet restaurant—creating an authentic environment that connects guests with the nature and identity of the place.

A Culinary Focus on Local Tradition

Gastronomy was a primary focus of the transformation. The design, inspired by the island’s volcanic geology, is reflected in the culinary proposal, which incorporates Canarian gastronomic tradition and highlights local produce. As part of this, two new specialty restaurants have been added: one focused on Canarian cuisine and another steak house. Both reinforce the hotel’s bond with its location, showcasing local products and the region’s culinary richness.

Growth and a 30-Year Anniversary

This opening reflects Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to growth, bolstered by its joint venture with Hyatt. The alliance is enabling the company to project itself more strongly in the international market. This new hotel is a clear example of a strategy combining global expansion with an identity based on authenticity and sustainability.

Its inauguration coincides with the 30th anniversary of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. Three decades after starting its hotel activity, this project reflects the company’s evolution towards more personalized, differentiated models closely linked to the identity of each destination. The Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife embodies that vision, coherently integrating local architecture, gastronomy, and culture.

Encarna Piñero, Global CEO of Grupo Piñero and President of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, highlighted at the opening: “The opening of Bahia Principe Luxury Tenerife reinforces our commitment to the destination and the group’s continued investment. Coinciding with our 30th anniversary and in collaboration with Hyatt, we are advancing a strategy of responsible and competitive growth. Furthermore, this project aligns with Soltour’s vision, which considers Tenerife a strategic destination and guarantees stable connectivity from mainland Spain, contributing to the island’s tourism dynamism.”
