Tenerife’s Christmas Has a Name: The PIT
Christmas in Tenerife has a name of its own: the PIT. As it does every December, the Tenerife Fairground transforms into a universe of adventure for young and old, but this year the excitement is even greater. The PIT is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its ice rink, one of the park’s most iconic features, with an edition packed with surprises, a wintry atmosphere, and experiences that go far beyond the classic attractions. From 20 December 2025 to 5 January 2026, families from across the island can glide their way through a programme full of games, workshops, shows, and moments to remember. There are many ways to experience Christmas, but few are as intense, fun, and magical as those lived each year at the Tenerife Children’s Park.
A Decade of Dreams on Ice
The PIT’s ice rink isn’t just marking an anniversary; it’s fulfilling dreams. For this special edition, the venue is being transformed into an authentic world of ice with a themed area, games, musical shows, and activities for all ages. From first steps on skates to creative workshops, every corner is designed to connect with the Christmas spirit and experience it as a community.
Practical Information: Tickets and Opening Hours
General admission costs €10, with multiple concessions available: children under 3 and adults over 65 enter free of charge (with ID or family record book), as do people with disabilities and one companion. Large families will enjoy a special price of €5 per ticket, subject to prior accreditation.
The opening hours for the festive period are as follows. During December, the venue will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 on the 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. On the 24th and 31st, hours are 10:00 to 15:00, and on the 25th, 15:00 to 20:00. In January, it opens on the 1st from 15:00 to 20:00, on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from 10:00 to 20:00, and on the 5th from 10:00 to 15:00.
A Vast Venue of Festive Fun
The PIT occupies the entire surface area of the Tenerife Fairground, including two floors and the terrace, which amounts to over 18,000 square metres of pure fun. Behind the scenes, more than 250 people are involved in the organisation: monitors, medical staff, sound technicians, maintenance, cleaning, and coordination teams. Everything is arranged so that every detail runs like a Swiss clock.
Highlights among the dedicated spaces include stages, play areas, workshops, cafeterias, rest areas, baby-changing facilities, the ice rink, and even a PIT-NIC corner to recharge between laughs and skating. Lockers, a reception, ticket offices, and a medical post are also provided to ensure the safety and comfort of all visiting families.
