Los Gofiones to Herald Christmas in Las Palmas with Annual Concert
The true threshold of Christmas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be celebrated this Tuesday, 23 December, at 9:00 pm in Santa Ana Square with the 38th Christmas Concert of Los Gofiones. According to the city council, under the presidency of José Afonso and the musical direction of Feluco (Rafael Tejera), the members of Los Gofiones are proposing a playful gathering, the details of which they are gradually revealing on social media.
Special Collaboration with La Trova
One such detail is the confirmed presence of the group La Trova. Just two days prior to the concert, on Sunday 21 December, La Trova had the crowds dancing in Santa Catalina Park with a Christmas event promoted under the slogan ‘Latin Night at Christmas’. It will be just 48 hours later that the voices of these two formations rise together in Santa Ana.
A Festive and Collective Repertoire
They will perform to the rhythm of a repertoire where traditional themes, Latin sounds, and songs that have become part of a collective imagination come together, a repertoire that stirs the audience from the very first chords played by Los Gofiones.
