Spanish rock legend celebrates iconic album in Las Palmas
A special date awaits fans of Spanish rock: Carlos Goñi (of Revólver) and his core musicians are bringing their tribute to the album ‘El Dorado’, which this year celebrated three decades since its release back in 1995. The evening will take place at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus (Symphony Hall) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on 2 January starting at 8:00pm.
A sold-out nationwide tour
The ‘Más Allá de El Dorado’ tour, brought to the Canaries by El Búho La Laguna, is a series of eleven concerts that had already sold out in most cities before it even began. Alongside Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the tour includes Madrid, the hometown of its leader Carlos Goñi; followed by Valencia, the city where the group Revólver originated; continuing through northern Spain with stops in Donostia, Oviedo and A Coruña; and jumping to the south starting with Alicante, Murcia, and Málaga. It then makes its leap to Gran Canaria, before returning to the mainland for the final two stops in Seville and Barcelona.
An unforgettable two-hour show
In this show, which will exceed two hours in length, Goñi and his musicians will perform every song from the ‘El Dorado’ album as well as other tracks that have defined the career of this band that fuses Rock with Country and Blues. The leader of the Levante-born band emphasises the album’s importance, stating that, like their 1993 album ‘Básico’: “it was, without a doubt, the foundation upon which I began to build the sound that to this day remains the hallmark of the house”.
Iconic songs in an emblematic venue
Part of the setlist that makes up both the album and the show at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus includes ‘Tú y yo’, ‘Nacidos para la gloria’ and ‘La fortuna’; and it is indeed a great fortune to be able to start the year from such an emblematic setting as the Symphony Hall of this magnificent venue in the Gran Canarian capital. Tickets for this unique event in his career, which he stresses is “not to be extended”, can be purchased on the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus website and on the official Revólver website.
