Major Police Operation in Las Palmas Nightclub
A coordinated police raid in the early hours of Saturday, 13th December 2025, at a nightlife venue in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria resulted in one arrest, 50 people being identified, and 23 charges for drug consumption and possession. The operation was a joint effort between the National Police’s Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR), the Provincial Brigade for Immigration and Borders, the Canine Unit, and officers from the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Local Police’s Operational Intervention and Support Group (GOIA).
Dozens Charged in Security Crackdown
During the intervention, which took place both inside the establishment and in its immediate surroundings, officers checked the identities of 50 individuals. The controls led to 23 official reports for the consumption and possession of narcotic substances. In addition, one report was filed for weapon possession and another for disobedience to officers, in accordance with the Organic Law 4/2015 on the Protection of Public Security.
Arrest and Expulsion Proceedings
One person was arrested during the operation for an alleged crime of assault on a law enforcement officer. The detainee will be handed over to the judicial authorities once police procedures are complete. Furthermore, expulsion proceedings have been initiated against a foreign national under Article 53.1.a of the Organic Law 4/2000 on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain.
Venue Faces Administrative Charges
The Local Police also filed several reports against the venue for alleged administrative infractions related to safety and licensing, as well as for allowing the consumption of cocaine inside the establishment. These facts will be passed to the competent authority for assessment. This operation is part of the preventive and control measures that security forces carry out periodically in the municipality’s nightlife areas, aiming to guarantee public safety, ensure compliance with the law, and maintain order in high-traffic nocturnal spaces.
