Vueling Boosts Winter Flights to Tenerife and Canaries

Vueling announces major winter expansion for Tenerife North

Airline Vueling has announced a significant boost to its operations at Tenerife North Airport this Tuesday, scheduling 11% more seats for the upcoming winter season. This marks the carrier’s “most ambitious” winter schedule yet at the airport, coming at a time when competitor Ryanair recently announced it will cease operations there.

Enhanced connectivity across the islands

Vueling’s expanded schedule will offer nearly 900,000 seats from Tenerife North, an increase of 89,000 seats compared to 2024. Furthermore, a separate 15% increase in seats from Santiago de Compostela Airport will result in additional weekly flights to the Canaries. This includes one more weekly flight to Fuerteventura, three more to Tenerife, and four additional frequencies to Gran Canaria.

New routes and increased frequencies

In total, Vueling will add 25 new weekly frequencies to its Tenerife North schedule. Key additions include five more flights to Barcelona, bringing the total to 35 weekly services and offering connections to nearly 90 destinations. The airline will also add a daily flight to Sevilla, ensuring service every day of the week. Travelers will benefit from three additional frequencies to Santiago de Compostela, Málaga, and Alicante, plus two more to Valencia. Vueling will maintain its existing connections to Bilbao, Granada, Asturias, and Paris.

A long-standing commitment to the islands

Vueling, which has been operating from Tenerife North since 2008, has transported over 11.2 million passengers through the airport up to 2024. The airline has already surpassed the one-million-passenger mark this year alone. Jordi Pla, Vueling’s Director of Route Planning and Strategy, stated that with this enhanced winter offering for the Canaries, “we reinforce our commitment to maintaining and boosting air connectivity to the islands all year round.” This expansion ensures travelers have more options to explore the unique landscapes and culture of the Canary Archipelago.
