Iberostar’s Transformed Fuerteventura Palace Reopens

A New Chapter on Jandía Beach

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has announced the grand reopening of the Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace, a five-star hotel situated directly on the pristine Jandía beach, following an extensive and profound transformation. This project solidifies the chain’s commitment to the Canary Islands, emphasizing quality, innovation in the guest experience, and the promotion of a responsible tourism model.

Inspired by the Island’s Essence

Inspired by the tranquil essence of Fuerteventura, the hotel has been reimagined as a sanctuary for guests seeking an experience of calm, well-being, and a deep connection with the island’s natural environment. All 437 rooms have been completely renovated, featuring designs and textures that draw inspiration from Fuerteventura’s unique palette: the green and terracotta tones of its interior flora, fauna, and landscapes like the sacred Tindaya mountain, contrasted with the brilliant blues of the Atlantic Ocean.

Enhanced Amenities and Gastronomy

The resort boasts four swimming pools, a modern gym, and a luxurious Spa Sensations. The culinary offering is a highlight, featuring three distinct restaurants and three bars. New additions include a 24-hour Star Café; the new Lobby Bar Sansofí with an outdoor terrace; the beachfront alMar restaurant, serving a selection of local dishes with stunning views of Jandía beach; and an expanded Teppanyaki Tsukiji restaurant with a new menu.

Exclusive Star Prestige Experience

Guests who choose the upgraded Star Prestige category gain access to an exclusive new space designed for complete disconnection. This private area features a solarium, a stylish lounge, and a reserved pool, offering a premium stay that defines the Iberostar Selection category. The hotel is ideally suited for couples and families searching for a restorative escape in a privileged setting.

Commitment to People and Planet

“We are especially proud of this transformation project, which demonstrates our bet on the Canary Islands as a leading destination for European travelers,” explained Finn Ackermann, Chief Commercial Officer of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts. “Our goal is to continue offering quality, personalized experiences for our guests while generating value for our employees, partners, and the local community.”

Investing in Employee Well-being

The hotel is advancing the principles of the Iberostar Wave of Change movement, the company’s roadmap for a responsible tourism model that cares for both people and the environment. With an estimated staff of over 300, Iberostar is implementing numerous initiatives focused on employee well-being and work-life balance. These include a commitment to reducing split shifts where possible and providing residential accommodation to facilitate housing for staff.

Further measures include a reduced workload for new housekeeping staff to allow for gradual integration and a similar reduction for employees in this department over 60 years of age. These efforts are complemented by additional benefits like physical health and emotional wellness programs, continuous training initiatives, and flexible remuneration systems tailored to each professional’s needs.

Sustainability and Circular Economy

Aligning with Iberostar’s global goal of sourcing 100% of its fish and seafood from responsible sources, the hotel works closely with trusted suppliers. The property has also been modernized for more efficient energy management, operating on 100% renewable electricity to reduce its carbon footprint and support the company’s objective of carbon neutrality by 2030.

Sustainability efforts extend to the circular economy through various initiatives. These include a pilot project for organic waste management with a local composting plant, a dedicated 3R (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse) team that manages and analyzes waste, and the use of AI technology to minimize food waste. The hotel also participates in a textile management program, giving a second life to unused uniforms and fabrics.
