Tenerife Tram Summer Timetable Begins Next Week
Metrotenerife will implement its summer tram schedule starting next Monday, rolling it out in two phases to align with seasonal demand. From June 30, Line 1 will run every 6 minutes during weekday peak hours (7:00 AM–3:00 PM), while Line 2 will operate every 12 minutes. Weekend and holiday services remain unchanged, with night trams running uninterrupted.
Phased Adjustments for Peak Season
From June 30 to July 6, Line 1 frequencies will shift to 7- and 15-minute intervals after 3:00 PM until midnight. Line 2 will follow a similar pattern, transitioning to 14- and 15-minute gaps later in the day. Starting July 7, both lines will adopt slightly reduced frequencies (7 minutes for Line 1, 14 for Line 2) on weekdays, reflecting mid-summer demand patterns. This adjusted schedule will remain in effect through early September.
Strike Impacts to Consider
Travelers should note that ongoing strikes by Metrotenerife staff will continue affecting weekday services, particularly during morning, midday, and nighttime slots. During strike periods, trams will maintain a minimum 80% service capacity. Plan accordingly for potential delays.
